The Pen Man has been interviewed on several local Albuquerque television stations. Channel 7 (ABC) did a story on Greg in May of '98 showing the technique he used to make his pens. In 1999, Channel 13 (CBS) did a story on The Pen Man's unique marketing strategies. One of the main strategies The Pen Man uses to get his hand crafted wooden pens to the public, is singing at Karaoke bars. Dozens of his wood pens are harmoniously displayed on the chest pocket of his denim overalls! In 2003 The WB 's Daily Buzz TV show www.dailybuzznow.com displayed The Pen Man’s web site www.thepenman.com on their show for viewers to visit if they wanted fine pens. ThePen Man is a small business that started up in October of 1997. The
founder, and owner, Greg Martinez learned how to craft pens from Maxine
Harrington and Robin Tonkin. Greg watched, asked questions, and then
finally attempted to make his own pen. His first attempt did not look
very good, but as in all professions, practice makes perfect. Greg
started out using regular and exotic woods, but swiftly realized that
the demand in the marketplace was not high. He subsequently found a very
durable, decorative wood called Dymondwood
